There has never been a more critical time to support women business owners.
The Women’s Business Development Council was founded so that women could have the right resources to start and operate businesses and accelerate their growth. Twenty-five years into this mission, women-owned businesses are growing at a rate 2.5 times faster than male counterparts.
Since 1997, over 17,000 women have worked with the Women’s Business Development Council to launch and expand over 12,500 businesses, representing more than 25,880 jobs in Connecticut. In their pursuit of economic empowerment, they were equipped with the entrepreneurial training, financial education and borrowing power necessary to mitigate the risks and challenges associated with launching and growing a business. They remain job creators and economic influencers who will inspire the next generation of women entrepreneurs.
