Who We Are

Forging pathways of economic growth…

At Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC), we believe in revitalization because we experience it every day.

WBDC empowers women and men to become thriving employers and more effective employees. From starting or growing a business to increasing income, WBDC illuminates business success in a tangible and accessible way.

Founded in 1997 as a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, WBDC is host to two U.S. Small Business Administration - Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO) Women’s Business Centers (WBCs). To learn more about the WBC Program at WBDC, click here.

Our clients exemplify what happens when desire, education and preparation come together. Opportunities are created. Ideas ignited. Dreams realized. Economies expanded.

Through workshops, one-on-one coaching and training programs, WBDC delivers business and financial education that makes a difference in people’s lives. We help women and men to reach beyond where they are and grow to the next level.

  • WBDC’s entrepreneurial training and counseling educates, empowers and guides the aspiring, emerging and established entrepreneur throughout their small business venture.

  • Financial Education gives people a solid foundation from which to grow. The Financial Education Program includes settings for clients with different financial needs: one-on-one budget coaching, seminars and long-term financial coaching that assists clients with debt, credit related issues, and increasing savings as well as retirement planning.

  • Access to Capital provides technical assistance to both aspiring and established entrepreneurs who are actively purusing capital. WBDC's business and financial experts provide hands on counseling assistance on a variety of topics, including business plan review, financial forecasting, pitch presentation, loan application preparation, lending referrals and much more! In addition, WBDC provides loans up to $100,000 that help to strat or grow a business. The WBDC Capital microloan fund offers flexible guidelines that help businesses build better credit to improve their attractiveness to traditional lenders.
